Isopods will investigate nearly everything with their antennae and mouths. They may nibble soft leaves, snack on decay, graze biofilm, uproot tiny starts, and bulldoze substrate around roots with impressive little excavator energy. A truly pod-friendly planting plan needs plants that tolerate humidity, disturbed soil, and occasional leaf damage - plus a quarantine routine that keeps chemical hitchhikers out.
What Makes a Plant Safe for Isopods?
There is no magic master list where every plant is proven harmless to every isopod species. Hobby experience is useful, but it is not the same as a controlled toxicity study. A plant that works beautifully with a chunky Porcellio colony can get shredded by a hungry population of dwarf whites, while a delicate plant may simply hate the damp conditions required by Cubaris.

Plants That Need Extra Caution
